It's about time!
Contrary to outward appearances, EA has been as busy as ever! We have a new
website, we have FINALLY finished our CD for you, and we have added some
new sonic and creative elements to the band. Even better, we have been writing
and recording prolifically. Look for a steady stream of new EA sounds on this
website.

"STRANGE BEAUTY," EA's long-awaited CD, is now available for purchase.
Click Here to get a copy of your own. Help us celebrate at our CD release party
on May 27th at the Docksider (1015 State Street). We are billing the show as "An
Evening with EastAve," with a mellow opening set of groove-based acoustics
before we tear the place up with two more sets of our higher-energy stuff. We
also plan on playing everything from the CD.

REALLY BIG NEWS
NEW CD!!!!
On the Airwaves. . .
Your chance to support EastAve for local recognition
Rockerie.com, Erie's music website, is conducting the first-ever Erie Music Awards.
After 8 years of producing original music, sharing the stage with national acts,
playing to large crowds in the area, and enjoying our ride on the airwaves, we think
this could be a great chance to get the word out to everyone about what we have
been doing as a longstanding member of the Erie origninal music scene.
Vote for us on RockErie.com as your favorite local band. This will give us a chance to
play again at CelebrateErie, but - more importantly - it will have us honored at the
first ever red-carpet Erie Music Awards in the new Convention Center.
Also, individual musicians will be up for awards, so make sure you write in the
names of any EA members here.
EA is:
Elly McVay - Lead Vocals
Elly is a local celebrity as a DJ on Z102.3 FM. Known for her soulful, warm, and sultry
rock vocals, she has been fronting the band for many years, and can also be found
singing with the soul/motown cover group Gem City All Stars when they get together.
Patrick Vahey, Jr. - Lead Vocals
While Patrick is a recent addition to the band, many locals know him and his
well-trained voice from his extensive involvement in local theater.
Pat Vahey - Guitars
Pat is the founding member of the band, and his guitar work has been admired by
many in the area for a long time. He has been laying down funky rhythm riffs and
searing solos since the band began. He has also been the principal songwriter of
EA since its inception.
Tim Sul - Guitars
Tim is another relative newcomer to the band, but a seasoned member of the Erie
music scene. The guitar virtuoso was a member and principal songwriter for the
popular bands Gloss and Instant Evolution, and lends his creative skills to eastave
as both a guitarist and a songwriter.
Doug Russell - Bass Guitar
Doug is half of EA's much-in demand rhythm section. Doug's non-linear playing style
is instantly recognizable, and allows him to be called upon for many projects. He has
played in XL, Morebo, Stiffy Harris and the Throbbers, and in the Roadhouse
Theater's production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Currently, he plays in Mambo
and The Red-Hot Rugcutters in addition to East Avenue.
Tom Kitchen - Drums
Now in year five with EA, you might also recognize Tom from some other very popular
past Erie bands, playing genres from jamband to funk, metal, jazz, fusion, pop, and
alternative rock. Tom co-founded Organic Voodoo Machine, and got a lot of regional
attention with that band. He also drummed with Higgledy Piggledy and co-founded
The Thirteenth Story. In addition to one-off gigs with many of the area's top
musicians, he has been the drummer for the Roadhouse Theater's production of the
Rocky Horror Picture Show for the past two years, and is a current member of The
Angry Wigs and Zero Hour Effect in addition to EA.
